It comes from the word carbone which means “coal” because there is a coal – like chunks of black pepper in the dish so it was called Carbonara. it was adopted by filipinos and make their own Carbonara recipe filipino style
How to Make a Carbonara Recipe Filipino Style?
The recipe of Carbonara recipe filipino style is much creamier and rich in flavor than other country because of the cheese and the All Purpose Cream. This is my 8th time in cooking this carbonara dish using the carbonara recipe Filipino style. Well, I guess I already perfect the taste of the carbonara sauce. Here is my Carbonara recipe Filipino style.
Carbonara Recipe Filipino Style Ingredients:
- 250 ml of All Purpose Cream, I recommend you to buy the Nestle brand
- 200 g of sweet ham, slice it into small squares
- 200 g of bacon, shred it
- 2 cans of Campbell creamed mushroom soup, I recommend you to buy the Campbell brand
- 400 g Fettucine pasta, you can try the spinach pasta to add color green noodles to your dish
- 1 head of garlic
- A dash of nutmeg
- Olive oil
- ½ cup of parmesan cheese for the toppings
Carbonara Recipe Filipino Style Procedure:
[dropcap type=”1″]1[/dropcap]Prepare and boil the Fettucine pasta. Follow the instructions at the back of the wrapper. Then set aside
[dropcap type=”1″]2[/dropcap]Next is, fry the shredded bacon into the pan under medium heat so that it will not be too crispy. Fry until it becomes brown. Separate the ¼ for the toppings later for your carbonara recipe filipino style and the other will be mix in the sauce.
[dropcap type=”1″]3[/dropcap]After that, sauté the garlic in a saucepan and use the olive oil. Add the sweet ham and the bacon you separated for the sauce.

Stir it well to blend the sauce of the dish. Add the 250 ml All Purpose Cream, mix to combine the cream from the sauce. Lastly, Season it with small amount of pepper and nutmeg.

You just need add some more All Purpose Cream to compensate the salty flavor to be able to perfect the taste of carbonara recipe filipino style.
